Léo Delibes
Conception and fabrication of the sculpture in our studio
Made after a drawing by Ariane Prin who had won the competition for the “1% artistique”* linked to the construction of block of flats in Clichy-sous-Bois.
To pay homage to Léo Delibes, a classic ballet composer who had lived there, the sculpture evokes the formal dynamics between dance and music.
This anamorphosis is made of a 30 mm-wide stainless steel bar bend with a welding torch. Viewed from the front, it draws the contours of two intertwined dancers; from the side, it reminds of the variations of an electrocardiogram or the curves recorded on a seismograph.
While shaping the bar, we felt like we were drawing with it as if it were a pencil.
Dimensions: height 3 m, length 2,5 m, width 2,2 m
