La Cité des enfants
Conception and technical development of 90 interactive devices
As part of the complete redesign and extension of the ‘Cité des enfants 5-12ans’ (area of the Cité dedicated to children aged 5-12 years), we designed 90 playful and interactive devices.
The challenge here was to give a durable facelift to a space created 15 years ago. Along with stage designer Nathalie Crinière, our mission was to redesign the whole space. Some new elements were created and mixed with pre-existing ones which were salvaged and renovated.
In the six distinct areas (The Body, Communication, Water Games, The TV studio, The Factory and The Garden) interactive games and devices are integrated into the setting, each creating an inviting and accessible universe for children. Each area has its own specific and original design.
Inaugurated in April 2009. To remain in use for 15 years.
